Lucetta Gilbert Ottley was the wife of James H. Ottley (1851-1922), publisher of McCall's magazine. The papers consist of letters, 1865, 1888-1933, genealogical notes, and copies of reference sources on the genealogy of the Gilbert family. Most of the letters were sent to Mrs. Ottley by genealogist Julia E. Clarke Brush, reporting the results of her research on the family.
